대한민국 광복 74주년

 

36년간의 일본 압제에서 해방된 지 74년이 되었다.

 

그 때 우리 조상들은 광복의 기쁨을 태극기를 손에 들고 골목과 거리를 메우고 삼천리 방방곡곡에 자유와 독립 평화가 내 손안에 금 새 쥐어진 것처럼 기뻐 외치며 환영하였다. 그 후 74년의 역사를 만들어 온 우리 조국의 오늘은, 숱한 시련과 땀과 고통과 갈등을 넘어 온 민족이 총체적 위기에 직면해 있다.

 

우리는 지금 참으로 위험하고 불안전하고 예측 불가능의 시대에 놓여있다. 북의 위장 평화와 중단거리 신형무기의 위협, 동쪽의 일본 아베 정권의 경제를 앞세운 침략 야욕, 서해 건너편에서도 시진평의 패권주의 파로라마 실현을 위한 음흉한 계략에 맞물려 한반도는 군사적으로 경제적으로 외교적으로 큰 위험이 동시에 노출되어 나라가 위기촉발의 직전으로 몰려가고 있다. 총칼이나 외교로 혹은 전쟁무기로도 맞설 수 없는 사면초가의 형편에 서 있다.

 

이런 와중에 나는 8월 9일 저녁 9시 KBS 1 TV 뉴스를 보며 크게 실망하고 분노한 장면을 보았다. 여당의 국회 원내 대표가 국회에서 기자들과 회견하는 모습을 차마 얼굴을 들고 보지 못할 정도로 한심스러운 장면을 보며 한숨을 터뜨렸다. 그는 얼굴을 희죽거리며 몸을 흔들며 입을 히죽거리며 경거망동하는 모습을 방영하며 촌극을 벌리고 있었는데 만약 북의 김 정은과 일본의 아베가 우리의 이런 저질스런 약점을 본다면 그 사람들의 눈에는 어떻게 비춰질까?

 

국영방송 대한민국 KBS TV 기자 앞에서 그런 저질스런 모습과 태도는 두 말할 것 없이 우리나라의 권력자들의 교만하고 비아냥거리는 자세의 기본이라 생각 든다. 한국의 권력자들은 그 자리에 올라서기만 하면 유권자는 안중에도 없다. 힘없고 약한 유권자들의 은혜에 보답하기는커녕 자기 자랑과 이익만 추구하며 국민을 얕잡아보고 잘못된 책임을 전가하며 항복하고 나를 따르라는 듯한 모습은, 지켜보는 정상적인 나라의 지도자들의 눈에는 당연 저질지도자로 비춰지는 대상이 될 충분한 이유가 될 것이다.

 

일본 아베 총리와 외무상의 모습을 보라! 입 꽉 다물고 얼굴에 골이 깊이 페인 험악하고 싸울 준비를 마친 듯한 그들과 우리 한국의 고위직 공직자들은 그저 편안한 곳에서 샴페인이나 떨어뜨리고 얼굴에 분이나 쳐 바르고 표정관리나 하며 국민들의 호감을 얻어내어 자기나 자당의 집권에만 온 정력을 집중하는 태도와는 너무나 차이가 큰 것을 우리 국민은 이제 환멸을 느낀다.

 

일본에 배울 것은 배워야 한다. 적을 알고 싸우면 백전백승, 적을 알지도 못한 무지한 배짱과 힘으로만 싸우면 백패, 우리는 역사를 통하여 이런 진리를 배워 익혀왔다.

 

대한민국의 고위직 공직자들아! 잠에서 깨어나라! 대통령도, 보좌관들과 장관과 국회의원들, 아베와 김 정은의 선전포고를 바로 직시하길 바란다. 얼굴에 색깔로 화장하고 가짜 미소로 국민을 호도하며 겉치장만 번 드레 칠하면 그것으로 능력을 인증 받아 자리를 유지하고 지지율이 올라가리라 착각하며 살아가는 지도자들아! 속히 꿈에서 깨어나 일촉즉발의 위기에 처한 우리 조국 대한민국을 위해 헌신과 희생으로 몸을 바쳐 일하라!

 

수백만 절대 빈곤으로 힘겹게 살아가는 국민들의 절규와 눈물의 호소가 그대들에겐 들리지 않는가? 안 보려 외면하고 있는 건가? 김정은과 손잡는 사진 한 장으로 우리 조국에 평화 통일이 진정 이루어지리라는 망상에서 하루 속히 벗어나라! 비위 맞추려 대변해 주고 쌀 주고 사탕주고 짝 사랑하는 짓으로는 김정은을 설득시킬 수 있다는 어리석은 생각은 안 된다는 것을 우리 국민들이 더 잘 알고 있다.

 

아베와 시진핑과의 싸움도 아주 힘겨운 어려운 싸움이다. 우리 앞에 한꺼번에 닥아 와 우리를 목 죄이고 있는 현실은 정말 숨통이 막힌다. 먼저 아베와 손을 잡아야 한다. 지난 과거의 역사도 중요하고 잊어서는 안 되는 일이지만, 내일의 밝은 미래를 위해 우리가 먼저 양보하자! 양보와 용서 없이 평행선으로 달려가는 기차는 끝이 없다.

 

비방하며 네 탓, 내 탓 흙탕 속의 싸움은 결과가 없다. 피차 회복하기 어려운 큰 상처만 남기는 싸움의 대가는 국민에게로 돌아온다. 허심탄회한 대화와 용서하는 마음으로 한 걸음 양보하며 낮은 자세로 접근하여 쌍방 간 상처를 줄여나가는 혜안과 지혜가 필요한 시점이다. 두 나라가 상호 발전하는 공동체를 만들어 융통성과 여유 있는 외교로 아베와 먼저 친해지고 우리의 민주주의 체제를 확고하게 뿌리 내릴 수 있도록 먼저 정성을 다하자.

 

그런 후에 시진핑과 격식에 맞는 대응책으로 이웃 간의 화해와 협력을 상호 존중하는 차원에서 문제를 해결하는 것이 올바른 길이다.

 

북의 김 정은과는 아예 단절하는 게 옳다. 나의 예언은 확실한 믿음이 담겨 있다. 끊어라, 단절하고 우리도 그에 맞서 싸워야 한다. 그에게 끌려 다니며 시중드는 창피스런 지도자를 더 이상 우리가 보지 않도록 부탁한다.

 

지도자는 권리보다 의무에 집중해야 참 지도자로 존경을 받게 된다. 리더는 약한 자를 보호하고 평등한 법 적용을 펼쳐가야 대중의 인기를 누릴 수 있을 것인 즉, 개인의 이익이나 보복 같은 일에 관심을 두는 꿈이나 계획은 안중에도 없애버리고 철저한 자기 관리를 통하여, 겸손하고, 온유하며 모든 사람을 섬기며 아끼며 존중하는 사회로 만들어 가는 것이 그들에게 부여된 엄숙한 사명임을 깊이 인식하는 공직자들 모두 되기를 바란다.

 

절대적으로 가난한 자, 소외된 자, 사회로부터 인증 받지 못하고 어렵게 살아가는 노동자, 농어민, 젊은 청년 실업자, 가난의 환경에서 헤어 나오지 못하고 신음하며 하루 하루를 탄식과 아픔으로 연명하며 살아가는 백성들을 북에 퍼 주려는 것 보다 먼저 구하라. 위장 전술에 계속 속고 끌려 다니지 말고 지금에라도 손을 떼고 이성으로 돌아와서 위기의 대한민국을 조속한 시일 내에 회복시키고 흩어진 국민들의 정서를 섬기는 마음과 사랑하는 마음으로 모아 정상적인 대한민국의 기능으로 회복시켜 주기를 부탁드린다. 광복의 날 태극기 환성을 부활시키는 74주년 기념 일 되기를 염원한다.
